Bed Bug Control

What is Artemis’ Guarantee?

in over 90% of bed bug cases, the issue is resolved with two spray treatments. However, if you have followed our recommendations and your current bed bug problem persists, we are committed to returning for further visits free of charge.

In most cases, a single spray will resolve the problem. However, we can only guarantee the overall treatment with a double spray.

How do we Deal with Bed Bugs?

Pre-Treatment (Customer Preparation)

Wardrobes & Storage: Empty and bag all clothes, washing them at the highest recommended temperature. Use sealed bags to prevent any escape and avoid spreading the infestation. Return clothes only after the treatment is complete.

Soft Furnishings: Bag and remove curtains, bedding and other soft furnishings. Wash or dry-clean these items, and if possible, opt for high-temperature washing and tumble drying.

Small Items: Remove small items like ornaments, picture frames, and portable electronics.

The only items left in the room should be the mattress, bed frame, headboard, wardrobes, bedside tables, chest of drawers, dressers, chairs, mirrors, rugs, house plants, and wall pictures.

Final Steps: Thoroughly vacuum every part of the room.

Prepare all rooms showing evidence of bed bugs, plus any adjacent rooms where occupants sleep, even without current signs.

Visit One: Survey & Treatment

Pre-Treatment Brief: First, we ask you to share your observations: what you have seen and where. Our technicians will also guide you through the treatment process and cover any safety precautions.

Property Survey: Our technician will inspect the premises for evidence of bed bugs and their activity, allowing us to identify targeted treatment areas.

Treatment: We administer insecticide to the entire infested room, including the carpet, bed, mattress, and furniture. We also treat any adjacent bedrooms prepared during the pre-treatment phase. Artemis utilizes top-quality professional residual insecticides, effective for up to 14 days.

Recommendations: We leave you with guidance or actions necessary to ensure a successful overall treatment.

Visit Two: Second Spray Treatment&nbsp*
(approx two weeks later)

Pre-Treatment Brief: Again, we ask for your observations, particularly any changes since our first visit.

Inspection: Our technician will conduct a second survey to identify areas still exhibiting bed bug activity.

Treatment: Once again, we administer insecticide to the entire room and its contents, including any other prepared rooms.

Recommendations: With your bed bug problem resolved, we leave you with a comprehensive report detailing the treatment process, recommendations, and photographs if necessary. We also advise on any further actions required to complete the treatment.

* Only applicable for double spray treatment

Why Artemis?

‘Professional’, ‘Knowledgeable’, ‘Punctual’, ‘Courteous’
 – this is how customers describe our service.

David with van

Artemis Pest Services is a small, independent, professional business priding itself on its unique customer service.

Based in Reading, we cover the entire county of Berkshire and cross over into the surrounding counties of Surrey, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire.

When we visit your home, we will not only deal with your immediate pest issue but will seek to find its root cause. In the case of rats, this will be looking for access points and may also require ‘baiting the drains’.

All our treatments are a fixed price and guaranteed. While two home visits are the norm, we will continue the treatment until we have eradicated the pests. And, as part of our engagement, we will always give our professional advice on how to avoid a future infestation.

Pricing depends on the size of your property and the severity of the infestation. Our guaranteed service includes two treatments, with additional visits at no extra cost if needed. We provide clear, upfront pricing before any work begins.

Yes. All treatments are carried out by trained technicians using UK-approved professional products. We follow strict safety guidelines to protect you, your family, and your pets. Any necessary precautions will be clearly explained before we begin.

No. However, you will need to avoid treated rooms for a few hours until surfaces are dry and safe. After that, it’s important to continue sleeping in your bed as your body heat helps draw out bed bugs, making the treatment more effective.

We aim to visit within 24 hours, often sooner if a technician is available in your area. Simply call us and we’ll arrange a convenient time.

We’re based in Reading and cover Berkshire and the surrounding counties. See the footer for a list of main towns we serve, or get in touch if you’re unsure about your location.

While no pest controller can guarantee bed bugs won’t be reintroduced from outside, we provide advice on reducing the risk of new infestations. You may also find our blog ‘Battling Bed Bugs’ helpful.

Our technicians check for live bugs and signs of activity at each visit. Once there’s no evidence of bed bugs, the infestation is considered eliminated. We’ll also show you how to monitor for any signs of return.

No. Unlike other pest control companies, we use completely unmarked vehicles with no advertising or company logos. Your privacy is our priority; although we’re always grateful if you do recommend us to neighbours!

Solal Panel Protection

Solar Panel Protection

In addition to pest control, Artemis Pest Services is one of the area’s leading installers of solar panel mesh (‘netting’). Working from ladders, where it is safe to do so, we provide a cost-effective solution to the problems caused by pigeons nesting behind solar panels.

In 2024, Artemis Pest Services installed protective mesh on more than 50 solar panel arrays, including both commercial and residential properties. This achievement translates to securing approximately 400 individual panels and using an impressive 1 km of our specifically designed solar mesh.

Visit our Solar Panel Page to request a quote for securing your solar array.
